The Federal government has introduced a range of initiatives to help SME’s improve their productivity and competitiveness by providing access to professional business advisory and development services.
Enterprise Connect is an initiative designed to help businesses improve by providing a detailed review of the important aspects of the business, plus access to an independent industry review report and a range of other business-boosting services.
Companies that qualify receive a free Business Review – an accredited Business Adviser will work with you to identify your business’ strengths and weaknesses, strategic business issues, potential areas for business improvement and potential areas for growth. The Business Review is a free service.
Additionally, you could be eligible for matched funding of up to $20,000 if you need the help of an external service provider to implement any recommendations arising from the Business Review.
Other services that may be discussed include Technology and Knowledge Connect, Skills analysis/audit, and development plans for employees (a free service through Ai Group).
The Enterprise Connect initiative applies to manufacturing, creative industries, regional centres, resources, defence and remote areas, and now also includes transport, freight and logistics, ICT and some professional services. You can find out more here.
Eligible companies must:
- Have an ACN and ABN
- Have turnover between $1.5m and $100m in the current or previous two financial years
- Be solvent
- Have been trading for the past three years and lodged Business Activity Statements during that time
· Operate in industries covered by the Enterprise Connect initiative (full details available here)
· Have not received similar Government assistance (Australian, State or Territory)
